THE HUB​

 

Hi and welcome to Omega Geekery's THE HUB! If you're a new player looking to use the search tool, feel free to skip to the bottom, for Venues and Communities looking to sign up, we recommend reading the FAQ before registering.

What's this all about then?

THE HUB is a free online tool for the public. It's designed to assist new and existing gamers find venues or communities near them that play the games they are interested in. It also allows venues and communities to promote themselves and any events they host at no cost.  To access the Hub, just click on the SEARCH THE HUB button.

What are the benefits to registering?

First off there's no charges for being listed on THE HUB, so think of it as free advertising. We wish to make this a free to access service for all types of players, so that they can easily find the venues and communities near them, that host the games they want to play.

​

We are also aiming to incorporate features where venues/communities can list their weekly schedule and promote any events that they are hosting on our community calendar, so stuff like a tournament or a special event (this is all dependent on if we can get this implemented on the website).

Countries supported

As the site is still quite new, we will be focusing on the UK & Ireland. Once the site becomes more established or there is enough requests to have a Country  represented on here, we can add it to THE HUB.

What do we mean by Venues?

Venues can be any location that sells, supports or hosts games. These can range from hobby stores, board game cafes and even community rented venues like town halls that host a dedicated "board game night."

In the case of playing at a rented venue, please register that venue separately via the Venue Registration page, as we need the venues data as well. You don't need to get the Venue owner to complete the details, just use your clubs details to fill out any of the required fields. In the case of multiple clubs/communities using the same rented venue, discuss with them who will be the primary contact and use those details for Venue registration.

What do we mean by Communities?

Communities are anything like clubs or social groups, that meet roughly once a week to play games, usually focused on particular board game, like X-Wing or Warhammer 40k.

What types of games can be advertised by a venue or community registered on THE HUB?

• Standard Board Games (board games like Ticket to Ride, Resident Evil 2 the board game, etc),

• Versus Tabletop Games (games that usually are player versus player so anything similar to Warhammer, X-Wing, Carnevale etc),

• Card Games (card games that use a living, collectable or even a fixed deck, for example Magic The Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Arkham Horror, etc),

• Role Playing Games (anything similar to Dungeons & Dragons).

 

If there are any games not listed on the supported games section of the application, feel free to make a request to have it added via the extra info/requests field, if enough requests are made we can add it to the website.
